How Much Do You Have To Know To Be A Christian?

According to the Messiah?

Everything.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 ESV)

  1. You will note, I didn’t say what it takes to be saved. The Lord himself said that we would be judged for every idle word. The requirement is knowledge, perfect knowledge, and the means is the Word, and that only by the Holy Spirit. The final state of the Christian is a perfect man, see Ephesians. That is what is require, it isn’t the actual estate of the believer, however. Notice the quote. Teaching all… to say that we can remain children and are not required to grow into the fullness of the knowledge of the Son, it to deny directly the commandments of our Lord.

  2. Then you should have changed the title. Teaching all doesn’t mean ‘all knowledge’ it means all people. Obviously we all have to grow. I didn’t say we can remain children. And how do you define ‘full knowledge’ and how does one get there? Remember, knowledge puffs up but love edifies.
